Germany and France showcase their friendship and highlight the best of their two countries at their shared Open House. This year, the German Embassy in Washington, DC, will host this popular annual event, where visitors can discover the food, culture, and diplomatic life of two major European nations.

Family Fun
You’ll be entertained by German and French music as you sample the culinary specialties and signature beverages of both countries. Kid-friendly activities include face painting, balloon animals, coloring books, and much more.

Learn and Win
Learn more about Europe’s two biggest countries at stands set up by the German Information Center USA and Atout France. Play games to test your language skills, take fun quizzes, and celebrate the 2016 Euro Soccer Cup!

Say Cheese
Take pictures at the selfie stations where you can pose in front of your favorite German and French landmarks. Your Facebook friends will be surprised to see you in front of the Eiffel Tower!

Location: Embassy of Germany, 4645 Reservoir Road, NW. The Embassy grounds and Ambassador’s Residence will both be open to the public.

Parking: Street parking is limited and we recommend that visitors use the free EU Open House shuttle buses.

Accessibility: The Ambassador’s Residence is handicapped and stroller accessible, but due to steep stairs, the main Embassy grounds are not. There is a separate stroller and handicapped entrance on Reservoir Road, near the intersection with Foxhall Road.
